The unconscious mind always knows.....

More Information

Very often when working with a client the words: “I don’t know”, will come up. And a good NLP Practitioner will know that consciously the person might not know but when it comes to the unconscious mind there will always be an ‘unconscious’ indication of what the client wants.

Here is an example: The client says: “I don’t know” when asked the question. “What do you want”? As he was saying this he took a deep breath, looked up to his right and then down to his left. In NLP we know that both the sigh and the looking up to the right and then down to the left mean something and specifically that the client is having self dialogue.  When I asked: “What did you just remember?” the client was a bit surprised but said he suddenly remembered an event where his parents were fighting and when he walked into the room he learned that his father was going to leave the family because of an extra marital affair. At 6 years old he had no idea what it really meant. This was a root cause event or primal wounding. I later learned that he was there to work on relationships; he could not keep a relationship going for more that 6 months. I helped him to heal and support the young boy of 6 and heal that event. Today, two years later, he still has an ongoing relationship!

Something on the humorous side: A client comes in and says: I’m ready. Take out your NLP on me! Didn’t know whether to get nervous or just laugh. And she just sat there waiting … for the show to begin. Eventually we worked with her ‘timing issues’. When somebody is not on time she will break off a friendship. For her, it feels like she is ‘betrayed and rejected’. That leads us to a root cause event where she as a 7 year old girl was not selected to recite her poem and the little girl felt utterly rejected. And that became a theme in her life. Business partner ‘screwed’ (her words) her for 60 million, husband left her (betrayed) for another woman and so it goes. Now small things in her life are seen through the filter of betrayal and rejection. I did a Time Line re-imprint on the root cause event and an anchor collapse on all the others. I really stacked the positive anchor and collapsed it on as many of other events of rejection as I could find!

All these techniques are taught during the NLP Coaching Practitioner training courses.  Spoil yourself and attend one!
