More Information
The voice on the other side of the line was warm and almost intimate. "Have you also been contacted?"

My mind was rushing, searching for a correct way to respond; not wanting to put off a potential client. The best answer I could come up with was: "I believe in contact and I am also interested in how 'contact' manifests in your life and how it can be a potential problem and together we can work towards an outcome".

It was silent on the other side for a moment. When the voice eventually spoke it was much colder and more distant! "Oh I see, this is how it works then! No, you are not spiritual enough," and the connection was terminated.

I felt like a fish on dry land desperately searching for water. I suddenly remembered movies I saw as a child: Close Encounters of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd kind. And later there was a 4th kind as well; the numbers were reference of escalation in intensity. Number one was just a sighting of an UFO while a number four was being abducted by an UFO. My mind was drawing an analogy to spirituality........of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th kind. The 1st kind might just involve meditating and going inwards. The 2nd kind is perhaps hearing and seeing beings, angels, and other entities. The 3rd kind might be these spiritual beings speaking and manifesting through your human body and the 4th kind? Perhaps doing astral travelling leaving your body and visiting other Universes like other people go for a coffee.

From my telephone conversation, I concluded that I still had a few levels to go. I believe that spirituality is busy replacing religion as a way of connecting to something greater and outside of the self. What interests me is that it seems that a lot of the hierarchies of religion is being copied and pasted into spirituality. Is this just part of human unconscious nature? Specifically the exclusivity of me (better than) versus them (not converted yet). And it is often spirituality of the 3rd and 4th kind - where the spiritual leaders’ claims of having direct contact with God or Divinity - which has given rise to numerous suicide religious sects over time. Is spirituality sometimes just religion in new clothes and when one scratches a bit deeper one finds the same old fears and exclusivity which is often at the base (to various degrees) of some churches and religions? I don’t have answers, just loose thoughts.

Through time there have been and still are great and very spiritual people walking this earth. It is the followers of these prophets who have often let something ‘slip’ in the translation of the original message from the prophets. The result was and still is wars and a never-ending fighting for what is believed to be right.

In conclusion, in the words of John Lennon: “I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong.”

So perhaps for now I may be not spiritual enough (3rd and 4th kind) and somehow it seems ok to rather take slower steps so that I can hear and see more clearly and as little as possible is lost in translation!
