Although this process can be used for pretty much anything, it is most commonly used for behaviours and compulsions – e.g. panic attacks, phobias, addictions and any behaviour which the client has little or no conscious control over.
It is one of the most powerful processes used in NLP and I sometimes combine it with some Time Line work. It can be done with various levels of trance.
This powerful technique is one of the original NLP techniques and done with the right intention and tapping into the ‘field’ can have very positive results.
What is of utmost importance is to have already done a ‘Welformed Outcome’ before the 6 step Reframe and that the Coach keep the positive outcome in his/her mind right through the session.
People heal and change with the power of the Intention being held during the session as a powerful framing energy and the technique becomes just a ‘trail’ or a ‘byproduct’ as Richard Bandler said.
To give a example of this: During a Shamanic retreat I became very aware of the power of Intention when I was healed by Shamanic healer. He placed his hands on me, closed his eyes and after a few seconds began to dance and sing and beating a drum. This contined for about 30 minutes.
Afterwards I asked him to explain how he did it and his answer was that I was already healed in the few seconds before the dancing and singing began. He saw me as a healed person and felt me as a healed person in every cell in his body. The dancing and singing was part of the gratitude ritual, gratitude for me now being a healed person.
